Wth bait in the fridge I decided to try a few hours on Roker this afternoon. Got there just after half two to find it blowing a hoolie from the south west but undettered I got myself set up just past the barrier.

Persevered fishless through the wind which was making it impossible to spot any bites (well thats my excuse) then after the tide turned the wind died away and eventually it turned into a lovely still evening:

As for the fishing nothing much to write home about. About an hour after HT I got a little Tommy which saved the blank; greedy bugger took a big lugworm bait that was robably bigger than he was:

Fished on for a while longer, if only not to waste the bait and then on my last chuck, just before 7pm I had another little rattle which turned out to be an Eel - Pout so another for the 2012 species list:

Bloke next to me had a cracking Coalie of around 2lb, lads coming off the end said it was quiet with just the odd fish coming on the flood tide. Still it beat spending the afternoon having sunday dinner with the folks and it was good to try a new mark for me.

A lovely little fella and keen as mustard. Had a nice bit craic with him when he came over and asked if he could unhook my codling, looks like you have taught him well :)
