Saw one caught in the boat on the hard off Berwick one time and it stripped the leather off the steel toe cap of the captor. Remember thinking........that won't be as tasty as a bit of haddock.

Pleasure to be proven wrong Keith. I think it is like a lot of things you've never tried - the perceived taste is influenced by the looks. Ought to know better as gurnards are one of my favourite fish. Haddocks are easier to get off the hook, mind you.
