well we could say they were a bunch of greedy fellows,or we could say they had been driven to crime,by rule makers who give them little chance of making a living legally

Said it before and ill continue to say it. "nowt but a greedy bunch of T****rs". They wont be happy till all the fish stocks are gone. The fines are pittiful compared to the amount of money made. Just makes it worthwhile to do it. £63 million in, £720,000 in fines. Come on work it out, if that profit was made from selling drugs, there would have been some heavy prison sentances handed out.

I dont make much money but have never been driven to crime. They make way more money than the average person but greed fuels the human race.

You could see them all laughing as they were going into court. If you find a shoal of Mackerel and scoop the whol lot up as they do, even the legal catches, then that Mackerel ain't gone a be around for long. Common sense to me but when was common sense ever used.

comparing a fishermen to a drug dealer is a bit daft whether he has broke the law or not, yes still both criminals, but drug dealers are far worse.
This type of fishermen give the honest guys a bad name, Not all commercials are a "greedy bunch of T****rs" , not fair to tar all with the same brush.
Its the same as any job, there is good and bad eggs, you get them in police, councils etc etc.
Where ever there is money there is crime.

They were making thousands and if caught, they were only doing 3 months. Point is, sentances were increased to deter them from dealing. Do the same to the thieving skippers. these guys will have big flash houses,very nice cars, nice life styles,
and the fishermen that took the government offer a few back may have got a
amount of money for there boats but lost there jobs along with there crews,63 million pound and they say there is no money in fishing
they should be stripped of the whole lot and a good time in prison
