wots the best shockleader to use

I have been using the ron thompson line same as greased weasel in touch and supplness has good abrasion resistance aswell i wouldn\'t be surprised if it was the same line factory workers will know this, 1 product X amounts of customers same product different label

Befroe i used to use the penn tuff stuff shock leader

i use whatevers handy as long as its twice the strength of my mainline, dont see the point of spending fortunes only to lose it and have to replace over and over when a spool of 50lb is only coppers ;)

Bri m8,I was the same as you,owt will do,but if you read the posts which you probably have considering you\'ve posted about the subject I went out and bought some good branded shockleader and it did the business, not only did it cast better but the knot strengh seems far better.I sometimes use the cheap stuff if i\'am on the rocks but most of the time I fish straight through with 35lb on the rocks so if you are fishing piers and standard beaches you should\'nt be loosing that much leader unless you have the odd crack off or fast hold somewhere. :D

hmm food for thought alan ,i dont lose that much unless im fishing rocky areas, cambois is particularly bad for losing the whole kit and kaboodle, then again lol i only know one decent knot so that may be the problem, superglue comes in handy though

Bri try fishing straight through with 35lb line,Cambois is especially heavy on gear,a rotten bottom will save alot of gear as well.

up there tommorow afternoon ,no 35lb so itl have to be 40lb,close enough, thinking of trying a few artificial lures surface floaters etc see if theres any bass sniffing about

ive used a few brands but @moment using ron thompson dyna link 50 lb 500 mtrs 7 quid rutherfords or id fishing its spot on watever knot you use i use bimini twist and always holds

Whats a leader?? 15lb straight through to my 7 oz sinker and half a mackeral bait for me, great for nailing jetskiers :P :P

Been using Ultima Powerflex for a while now, competively priced and seems to do the trick for me,have\'nt tried many top brands as such but I do recommend this as a mid priced Leader, picked mine up on Ebay for next to nowt, worth a look before you try the local tackle dealers.
