Wrasse kill or Release

Keeping my own opinions to myself, I would just like to mention that since a couple of years ago, when my son and myself had the unfortunate task of disposing of about a dozen wrasse to 3 lbs as well as a few small, just sizeable codling, Newbiggin club decided to ban them from future opens as well as in its club matches. Anglers were asked at the open's weigh in, as well as a couple of local crab potters if anyone wanted the fish, but there were no takers. We had to wait till evening to take the unwanted fish down to the church point rocks and tip them all into the ebbing tide.

As a matter of fact I do. Like the fact I don't give a sh@t about what you have say. But the fact that wrasse are taken for granted and wasted match in match out is a fact ! Arguably other fish are as well but if winning a few quid is all that you think about when fishing then your a very sad individual.

Wrasse are taken for granted ?? Wrasse don't always get wasted in matches as people eat them there's more fish wasted by pleasure summer anglers thinking every fish can be taken for the cat most matches wrasse have to be 30cm not the legal 23cm.bass have to be 41cm in matches yet you see pleasure anglers taken bass at the legal 36cm but it seems to me that you just do t like match anglers full stop

Not really true, I've enjoyed fishing matches and still do. I know when something has run it's course and this has. I'm also man enough to admit my opinions are a bit strong and controversial but that's just me. So I'm agreeing to disagree and leave it at that now, over and out.
