Wrecked again

We hired a dinghy 3 years ago at Gareloch Head. After a couple of hours it seemed to be letting in water so I started bailing the water out. Then I spotted the bung wasn't in the hole! Must have worked its way out and I probably bailed it over the side! Started engine and headed straight for shore, Lynn at the helm, me on the bailing. Only just made it, shin deep in water. Called the guy we hired it from, as we were about 4 miles by road from him. He said "Go into the Ardentinny Hotel and ask for a few wine corks" and promptly hung up!!

We have never hired a dinghy again!!

So I will bring a few corks when we come down Chris - just in case! :)

Garelock, oh the memories of the cod fishing in the 70's/80's, it was phenomenal fishing from the shore..............don't know what it's like nowadays. Did you catch anything Mark before you noticed the bung missing.

Fishing is dead now mate. Trawled to extinction! So, so sad. I lived 20ft from the Clyde most of my life and to watch what happened was a tragedy!

Mackerel, dogfish and the odd Saithe, is your lot these days. That day we had Mackerel only.

That's why we come to the North East 3 times a year for a week each time, to try and catch real fish! The irony is, you used to come to us!! :(
