Wrecks still holding fish

Decided to have a few hours on a friends boat with the intention of dropping anchor at Whitburn or hendon but the weather was fantastic yesterday so decided to have a look at a few inshore wrecks.
The 1st 2 wrecks showed little interest but we plodded on to some wrecks at 4 mile and would you know it 1st drop and were both into fish. I managed myself a pollock around the 5-6lb bracket. And my mate lost one over 10lb. The next drift was a blank so we went over again this time were both in again. But I was the only one to boat a fish this time was a codling at about 4.5-5lb. I also plucked a nice whiting from one of the ground marks a little closer inshore on ragworm
Called it a day just as darkness was setting in. Was a cracking couple of hours afloat which rewarded us a few fish. Happy faces all around.

Nice fishing David, terrible sartorial choice mate!! I am sending the style police round to yours to give you some much needed advice!

Next time take photos afloat! :)

I don't have a phone anymore and didn't have a camera so had to take photos at home.
Not wrong with my sponge bob pjs. I use them as base layers. Be surprised how warm they keep you.

Nice fish mate am going out on a boat in the near future for first time.looking forward to see what it produces.what rigs and hook size would u recommend?

Great stuff David :), the fish are on the wrecks all year round, its just the water is too murky on the inshore ones for pirks at this time of year, so fishing with bait is the best bet, you dont get as many though, better if you anchored up on the wreck....:);)

That just might work Chris!

David, Lynn has banned me from wearing my pink crocs on the boats, which is bit rich, since she was the one that bought me them!

Maybe see you on a charter again this summer mate.

Is she still wearing her yellow ones ? If so tell her she's banned from wearing those and even it up a bit

I must be careful taking you on my boat again. My employer might see your catch reports and I get sacked.

You also put it in very nice words that I blanked and to put insult to injury I also lost 2 very decent fish in midwater !!

Ahh you see Norbert I didn't mention who's boat. I said friends boat. Shame about those lost fish though would of been great to see something bigger landed
