Just thought id let you know that ive had a really exciting day! With our lass working at the bar me and the fatha in law were left in the kitchen with a few instructions.....however our lass was not impressed when i rang her at 1:30pm saying there was a slight problem with the dinner, it went like this " hi love, dinner might be at our house instead of your mams cos the oven is alight and the fire brigade are carring it out of the house!" her reply was " aye aye whatever" to which i replied "nor nee s@@t they are, see you soon!
Turns out the fat had caught alight in the top oven, the bairn rang the fire brigade and i have to say they were there in minutes and were spot on despite my attempts to put it out. So now minus arm hairs!
One cooker ruined but at least we were all ok, and we managed to save a dinner...minus the roast tatties n parsnips, them steamers are great!
Think we'll eat out next year!

Look at it this way Jamie, at least you will have something to talk about next Christmas day mate :D :D

Pleased your all ok though, not the best of ways to spend Christmas day. I bet your lass hopes she gets the day off next year so that she can cook lol.

Jim.

the mother in law did say that was the last year they were having every1 round (all 13 ov them) so like you say theyve got summick to talk bout. hey i dont mind, me n the fatha in law are now banned from dinners! RESULT !

We had all the family at ours on Xmas Day. Its the first time I have cooked for 12 and we had no mishaps - well apart from the usual spilled drinks LOL. Took a few shots of the grandbairns opening their pressies
