yak fishing

Not quite shore fishing or boat fishing, tried this for the first time yesterday. Hired out 2 yaks from that new place in north shields, it was a fantastic way to fish and would highly recommend it to anyone who is wanting to give it a shot. Cost just as much as a decent shore session. - will definitely be getting out again in the near future. We got a shed load of makie and my mate hauled in a good size pollock.

fishing shop?

fishing shop?

whats the name of the place you rented the kayaks from,i have one myself but i would like to get my mate out to try it.since i bought my kayak its hard to get yourself to fish from the shore:)

It was a cracking session 18 between us including a gurnard i have just had to looked it up not sure if they are a common around here? can't wait to get back out and start saving for my own yak

Without knowing too much about the set up, this imho is a disaster waiting to happen!
thinking the same
dont want to knock the company ,but what type of safety equipment do you use , your own or is it supplied ie pfd ,dry suit/wet suit , vhf and how far are you allowed to go out
this could get a lot of people interested in kayak fishing

nah wasn't me bud i couldn't paddle that far, I went off between tynemouth & s/s pier.

To answer the previous query as regards to safety euipment, I have my own wet suit and they supply life jacket. no radio was supplied but to be honest i wouldn't know how to use it. but each to their own in my opinion, if you feel comfotable using a kayak to fish from go ahead and enjoy it (we both had a cracking time), if not then stay on shore and enjoy your days fishing.
