hi, i have a yamaha 50 autolube on my 15ft sea hog hunter. after running at full throttle for 15-20 mins she dies. she sometimes starts straight away but dies when you try to throttle her up. after half an hour or so she will start and go to three quarters throttle but if i go to full throttle she will die again, can anyone advise please :(

only asking because it sounds like the engine isnt getting cooled causing it to over heat if its the case you will need a new impella first thing i would do is the cheap jobs ie new spark plugs ,clean out the carbs ,fuel filter etc

i would deff get the impella checked out cause if it is it will only cost about £20 for the part then labour normally the impeller should be changed about every 2 year as they are made from polycarb and can become brittle losing there teeth etc so water doesnt circulate over in the engine to cool it down

to be honnest mate you might be better off getting the impeller from ebay as it will be cheaper just search for your model num and hp on ebay you should find one

I agree always start with the normal culprits

1. Impella
2. Carbs (mechanical ones not food)
3. Plugs and leads.

Then.

Thermostat sticking causing overheating.
Coil breaking down as engine temp increases. (This one might be your problem.)
The coil can be checked using a spark plug tester. Very cheap and easyish to do.

If you need a hand I will help. I have to pay back Karma for all the help Ive had on here.

My money is on Impella and coil problem.
