How do all, decided after a few years out of the fishing scene and a very pursuasive six year old, I've took the plunge again. For the time bein though I'll probably stick with something simple to keep him interešed like spinning or floating.

Basically looking for any tips on places to try, when's a good time etc. been a good few years since I've ventured out so any help is appreciated. That an comin from up Hexham way it's not often I'll get the chance.

Any helps appreciated. Cheers lads.

Live in Hexham mate. Still in the process of buying little bits when I can for the summer and looking for a couple of cheapish rods.

R right mate i work in robbs easiest places for you to fish with the bairn is BA carpark easy fishing with no snags

Yeah I won't be getting out till the summer anyway, just trawling car boot sales and what not picking up bits and bobs when I can.

Never fishes for bass or mackerel and that so any tips would be helpful, where's good to go, what to use, float or spin etc?

hello m8
as previously said british airways at scotswood business park is a great venue for the bairn as you can fish out the back of your car, best fished on 5m plus tides on the flood and one hour back. you will be surprised at how good the sport is on light gear, some lovely flattys to be had. maccy strip n ragworm and you cant go far wrong.

If Sunderland's not too far to travel, the Roker Pier is good for mackerel. The bairn will learn how to drink a slab of lager in no time :).
