Zziplex primo XL

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about these rods? Are they a newer primo synchro as can't find much about them

No different, just with a longer stiffer butt. Suspect it would make a nice casting rod to learn on. There's also the full tournament xl. Most Zziplex can be made to order with longer butts, stiffer tips etc. Just be prepared for a very long wait!!

I think a Hst EVO with a longer butt would make a nice rod. Once a rod gets the EVO name that's basically as stiff as that model goes.

Cheers bud. Are they a newer model do you know? Sounds like what I'm after and could be swapping for one of my rods. Looks like it has the new sticker etc like

The primo range has evolved over the years, I know the old synchro models were quite powerful. I know the xl model has been available at least 3 or 4 years. Your better off trying to speak to Terry for more info.

I've got a newer model Synchro standard. It's not a stiff rod but it is plenty powerful enough. I'd describe it as through actioned and works best with a big arc - a proper wind up rod. As far as I know the XL is the same tip as the standard but with a longer butt.

I know the older models were stiffer than the modern Synchros. It's quite a step down from the M4 Evo in stiffness and feels very different in the cast. That said the old Synchros have been cast 300 yards on the field and the newer ones are still very capable indeed.

Love mine to bits for clean to mixed ground beach fishing or on piers where there is not too much of a lift. Anything heavier / higher up I use the M4 Evo.

I've got an Afaw tourney rock or a Zeteque for the heavier and a j curve for the lighter work so wanted a light to mixed rod but with decent casting abilities so looks like this could be the rod for me cheers

It's a swap I'm doing for my ttsm and he doesn't have an m4 gt but sounds like it will do for now

unles you are fishing one or two cleanish beaches around were live area seaham imho i think they are a tage soft just my opion mind you.
