Don't know much about this rod & can't find much info on it
A fishing m8's neighbour is selling it
Apparently been used a couple of times bought from a shop near newbiggin as a second because of bad varnish quality!!
Is it worth £200 he's asking £280 but was gonna make an offer of £200

I'm a paranoid sort.
Could be genuine mistake there's no shop in newbiggin. Nearest is ashington Blyth or lynemouth,
Also wouldn't have thought a company like zziplex would let seconds out their factory!
Lad won't let me try the rod - understandable I suppose I would be the same

Well its an old rod for a start so no idea of its history.

If a tackle shop "sold" it, it maybe was there as a trade in so used already.

For 280 you can get newer

paid £280 for my m427 used but it was shop condition sounds a bit over priced m8 best thing to do is have a look at it see what con it is in then make a offer if your happy with what you see

Hi it looks like a rebuild as zeteque decal is running wrong way to all others I've seen...I could be wrong

Was thinking the same about the decal. Could be a rebuild, could be a knock-off, could be a mistake by TC but if it was me I'd be wary.

As for the varnish thing, I'm pretty sure TC only supplies blanks and there is no such thing as a "Zziplex factory build". Most suppliers will buy in the blanks then have them built by there own rodbuilder

My gut feeling is a no, how can I tell if its a fake? The lad bought the rod from someone in newbiggin who bought it from ashington shop, it was rung for fixed spool & has had the bottom ring removed & I think he's added high build himself, he's assured me it is a genuine zziplex but I have my doubts
Think its one to avoid

Apart from that it's in good nick, 12ft with a reducer

my zeteque was 13ft 3in mate

if you are not sure about the rod just stay away save your dosh there are a lot of zipplex rods come up for sale on neesa from good sellers and you can find out there background ,
my advice think again m8, I got a great deal of my m8 on a zipplex sst and its a mint rod well pleased.

No then it's definately a wrong one! It was 2 equal sections 12ft + reducer
Glad I went with my gut instinct

Think the last time TC (Zziplex) made a 12' rod was the early 2500 about 25 years ago. Even then they were an 8' tip and a 4' butt.

About as certain as I can be that it is a knock off in the hope of parting the unwary from their cash, watch out for it appearing on fleabay next...

I doubt if the shop in ashington has ever had a zeteque in, never mind one of dubious origin and poor build quality.I think endurothumper's probably right and somebody's being a bit of an ESRA!!!!!!!!!
