Anyone recommend what one would be the best for our coast line? Want to use it on beach/pier/river and the odd rock mark. There's that many I just don't have a clue. Already got a kompressor ss and was planning on a c curve but loads of people have said take a look at zziplex. Thanks

Ask cod magnet for advise Sean he's had every one known to man

M4 Evo is a great allrounder, lovely, slim, light blank and will put 175g plus bait along long way with the right technique. Slightly overgunned for clean beach work but great for off the piers and mixed ground and it won't let you down in the proper rough stuff. Though my Primo Synchro is my absolute favourite rod overall I probably use the M4 Evo more

Dymic HST Evo a bit more powerful than the M4 Evo but again a lovely rod

Dymic LT Bullet is a bit oldschool but again slim, light and very powerful; more suited to the rougher end but a great rod and wish I'd never swapped mine. Bit longer than the other two rods at 14'

Heard very good things about the Zeteque TXL GT; a powerful rod but with a glass tip so retains good bite detection and then the tip just folds away on the cast / pulling through the rough. Have yet to use one myself but would love to have a play if everything I've heard about them is true.

Got a bullet gt,very very nice rod,gr8 bite detection, powerfull but if u want something with more grunt,I also use a 427 hiflex, very powerfull, can send a baited rig obscene distances but still picks up the little knocks n taps(gr8 tip,4 such a powerfull tool).Tbh I really like the 427:)does anything I ask of it.

zziplex m427 all the way for me . good powerful rod but still got good bite detection . your welcome to have a few chucks with it .

M4 evo will do all your fishing up hear mate av cast a 200g on it ne problem but if I was ganna get another 1 get the m4 gt for the bite detection in the tip

Thanks for the replies lads. I'm keeping my ss bud. My mate is getting an m427 soon so I'll have a cast of his when it comes but thanks for the offer mate.

ive had a fair few of the range in my time and tried almost all the mid to powerful range.

Off top of my Head:

M4Evo - Dymic LT Bullet - XTR sport - Zetech GT - HST Evo - Bullet GT

A lot of folkes kid themselves they need the real meaty beasts like Zetech TXL, M427 etc etc which i find overkill unless your fishing huge baits off rocks / kelp / cliffs or can blast a pendulam 250 yards.

As your wanting a rod that can turn its hand to all situations then go for the slighty less beefy range above, preferiblly the GT ones as the glass tip aids bite detection when fishing lighter. Only problem with Zippys is rods of the same type can be totally different as they dont have a consistant build!
so if possible buy second hand and try before you buy as one M4 Evo made in january can be totally different feel and action to one made a few months before! Personal experiance the first M4 Evo i bought (one of the early ones) was a lovely mid action c curve rod, the second i bought a total stiff poker that smashed my back and had the characteristics of a totem pole then the third i had was superb fast J curve action! but all were supposed to be the same model and rod!

Fraisers has a few in at present, Terry at Reelsport also has some in - theres a place in redcar area that apprently has a huge stock.

Good luck!
