zziplex

hi has anyone used the new zziplex trc yet if so whats it like is it too stiff for fishing opinions please thanks

John peter thain has done a reveiw on them in one of the mags but I can't remember which I've messaged him asking I'll update as soon as I find out.But as far as I'm aware he really likes them he played around with guide spacings and reelseat position till it felt right.

Used one myself equal sect through stiff action ,can't see why it can't be used for fishing as I think sometimes stiff carbon rods show bites better, downfall for fishing IMO a bit long as puts a lot of strain on wrist . as ever though if you want the best get a zziplex simply the best rods made to suite every requirement in fishing.

I've got one, initially thought it was too stiff and was going to sell. Ive just taped a set of rings on like i normally do. Its like a stiffer slimmer m427. Very light, crisp and powerful. Haven't used it a great deal so far but seems fine as a heavy ground rod, tip is quite fine and should show bites but it's obviously not a match rod!! I don't think it's quite as stiff in the butt and lower tip as a TXL. But not by much. Will certainly put a 7oz lead out there without struggling and as its more through action it wont pull the hooks like some j type rods.
Got more power than a t1000 in the tip and SU and more progressive though action tip.

Unground and it comes with bloody awful x wrap shrink tube. Much prefer the std cheap smooth stuff. Its going to be stripped back.
Hope that's of some help, there's a video on you tube of Steve Lewis thrashing one - OMG!!
