    PRESS RELEASE

Come and see the bounty of the sea

There will be a rare chance to find out everything you wanted to know about the range of species that can be caught off the coast between the Tweed and the Tyne at an event in Amble on Saturday 9th July.

The Northumberland Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (NIFCA) will display the bounty of the sea at its own fish counter at the Northumberland Seafood Centre, Amble from 10.30 am until 3.30 pm.

The event will also give interested members of the public an opportunity to learn more about NIFCA’s work, including the findings of its lobster and mussel surveys and its role in promoting and regulating recreational sea angling. There will be presentations about the Authority’s work at 10.30 am and 2.00 pm and officers will be available to give more information about the Authority and its work.

NIFCA is one of 10 IFCAs around the coast of England. The IFCA Vision is to lead, champion and manage a sustainable marine environment and inshore fisheries, by successfully securing the right balance between social, environmental and economic benefits to ensure healthy seas, sustainable fisheries and a viable industry.

For further information contact NIFCA at: NIFCA | nifca@nifca.gov.uk or 01670 797 676
