Used to go there when I was a bairn. Great fish & chips & nice people.

I think one of the better ones in the area believe it or not is in Beamish Museum. Little expensive but it is in the pit village - coal fired fryer, hand cut chips, cooked in beef dripping and served in newpaper.give a man a fish and feed him for a day - teach the man to fish and feed him for life!!!!

Kielder 2 stakeford
Gotta say the Kielder 2 is the best chip shop in the north east that i have tried, great portions of fresh fish and chips, even the peas seem nicer if its possible.
It is based in Stakeford just up the bank right at the roundabout., always chocker and always delicious.
Im there every saturday for my dinner and I have never had a bad one yet
