Not a lot to do in the winter so had a run down to check out the boat (free of Ice at last) and so engine purring like a little purring thing ... :)

Had a run down the coast to check out the sea state what with this big easterly blowing ....... :o certainly not my cup of tea, but maybe it`ll do the shore lads some good ...... good luck lads, and all the best to all NESA members and their families for 2010 ....

Just a couple of shots :-

I've got to agree with Ray, I wouldn't like to be out there on an aircraft carrier never mind a small boat

Same to you Ray, all the best to you and yours mate.

Jim.

Tony - yes, shot with the new camera but only on low/med resolution at the moment till I get more used to it, heres the same footage output in 720p HD format (although as I say not shot in HD so there`s still a lot to go and improve on yet) outputting in this format gives the youtube view of what you usually get in live mpeg on PC. (You may need to click the "HD" button on youtube frame to view).

Hi Jinxs, video was shot in WVGA 60f(DVD) but after running through editor to add text etc it was then output as HDV 1080i-60f

the camera I am using (basic) has 4 modes of resolution
HD 1080p (30f) (best)
HD 30f (720p) (next)
WVGA 60f (DVD) (next) (used on sea state)
and QVGA 30f (Ipod) (lowest)

so I think theres a bit to go yet,

trouble is the higher the resolution the more detail but .... the more shake there is so a tripods a must for serious HD shots

hope this helps

Looking forward to the video reports lads.

If you get a chance Jimmy run the camcorder over Alan's GPS as he drifts over some of those lunker holding wrecks.

Norman, when I was young the old man always said "Look out for Victorias head" hidden in the cliffs below the Priory. I thought he was trying to keep me looking at the horizon to stop me being sick. Have a look at your HD footage................................

Spooky
