Before the post gets sidetracked big style let\'s just concentrate on the argument a mo..... the Post Office is closing down branches and the Posties only deliver once a day (not blaming posties - they do as they\'re told), doctors tell you to book an appointment days in advance, so you presumably guesstimate how ill you\'re going to be and then phone up, the Bin men now come once a fortnight, once for the household waste and once for recycling, you can\'t see a dentist for love nor money, the Firemen can\'t go to sleep any more when at work (?) , the Police don\'t turn up at my school (or in fact when we were burgled at home) because they are otherwise engaged and Schools have to improve exam results year on year (as do all you out there who have to meet targets set by people who also have to meet their targets) while delivering all the skills once attributed to parents - drugs ed, sex ed, citizenship, careers, finance. Add to this the fact that Council Tax has gone up 120% in the last 15 years (has inflation? I think not) and you see where I\'m coming from.
What makes it worse from my point of view is all the things I can claim tax relief against, regarding the production of the book, so who then ultimately pays? Well we all do don\'t we. Unless you\'re clever enough to avoid it or a member of the government who, at a time like this, is giving itself better pensions and longer holidays.
You know I\'ve never had such a rant but today has really pi**ed me off. Off for a whisky.
