sea anglers together

you lot must be stupid if you think i would tell anyone where i expect to catch fish that is where the skill comes in and years and years of gathering knowlege so get off your backsides and get out there and walk the marks you want to fish the day before you fish.

You can't expect people to give exact locations away, especially some of the "hard-core" anglers who put a lot of graft in to get the results.

Its good to know whether they come from "up north" etc, as I've said before posting that "you went fishing & caught a fish", you might as well not post.

Remember, most of the top anglers would'nt even post their catches on here, so from my "pleasure angler" point of view, these reports are a bonus, and well done for putting the work in & getting results.

Loads of aggressive posts on this board at the moment. Is there a full moon or something ? can we not have a big group hug & be nice to each other (Could do it just before the nesa comp).

i thought mark x was anywhere on the coast that people dont want you to know;)

Here's mine....;)

I asked 3 billion questions when I first joined NESA and got lots of helpful info...but I found pretty quickly that you have to put in the extra miles yourself to learn about marks/venues etc

I've also found that the way to earn "proper" help off the better anglers is by showing that you actually go out there and try yourself and not come on here after reading a mint catch report going "How does X fish? best bait? etc etc " which as has been said is generally met by a wall of silence

Fishing isn't really rocket science, it's about applying a little common dog to a given circumstance - like realising that after the 10th attempt of fishing a venue in one set of conditions and blanking everytime that maybe you've got it wrong

Well said Tony, part of fishing is admitting you got it wrong. Wrong venue, wrong tide etc. The key is learning from your mistakes and then applying it.

Just realised that the person responsible for the thread has yet to comment on any of the comments made! Perhaps just adding fuel to the fire?

Let's not forget that a lot of 'Commercial' people access this site who purport to be R.S.A.s.

Whilst the true R.S.A. is in it for the sport and 'recreation' with any fish caught an added bonus, the 'Commercials' are solely in it for financial gain, so if you have had a decent bag from a spot accessible to boats, think twice about divulging it otherwise you are likely to find the area (and maybe the sea bed) decimated.

1 of the main reasons I don't!!

part of the fun in fishing is going out and trying new marks , get out have a look at the coast ,

i take the dog out and walk up and down the north east coast just looking for little spots to try, have walked for miles , if you see some one fishing stop and have a chat, or just watch see whats going on.
some people will tell you loads of information some tell you nowt that is the way it is just.

there are a lot of lazy poeple who expect you to tell all, do your homework and you will catch more fish, that is what a lot of poeple do..

good luck to all in the hunt for fish of your dreams, i have been looking for it for years but one day it will all pay off

being new to the sport i quickly realized the difference between anglers and danglers ,the angler's on this forum have serve'd long aprentship's and put in the time and money to learn the sport . i wouldn't expect anyone to tell me there hard earn'd info even though some have and i was very gratefull for it . part of the attraction of sea fishing to me is having to learn about wind tides baits species habits etc , if all you had to do was buy a starter outfit some bait then look on a forum for advice pop down and catch a 10lb cod every time im sure you would get bored very quickly . (well maybe after 20 years or so :)

i dont mind telling people where i catch any fish from.
9 times out of 10 there will be no fish there when peeps go there anyway lol

telling peeps where marks are is not a problem.
there are a few ickle things that i keep to myself, rigs, how to fish marks, what they fish like in different conditions etc. but thats just i have picked up off my own back over the past times i have been there.

most fishing is down to luck anyway, even the best anglers with the best baits still blanks every now and then!

Did you or did you not post a thread called Mark X on the 6th? Granted you gave clues but you did not reveal the location, which is an illegal mark by the way.:red:

will all know mark x is cambois pier but due to me gettin slammerd ages ago on here bout postin cambois lighthouse bla bla bla then i know say mark x

i myself post mark x but at least i tell ppl bout my time out fishin just not where it is but most of the anglers on here know where mark x is!

and we know its illegal...

we all have fun!! weather its on piers, beaches n illegal spots..

And me myself found out that learning more about marks is too fish it more on different tides n weather conditions.. yes its very very nice to bump into other anglers therefore learn more tactics & more info on other spots etc so u learn even more again.. i like talkin to other anglers cos im still all new to this lol:D

I've met Sean and fished with him and he gave he as much info as he could about the venue we were fishing......baits, rigs, casting distance and best conditions!! He has also advised me on the best conditions to fish one of his other most productive marks and offered to take me with him. I have lots of time for him, he's a nice lad and full of info and support and i don't blame him for not posting everything he knows on an open forum. If you put the hours in on here using the search facility you can work out best tides, baits and conditions to fish some of the top marks.
I have only been fishing a few years now but i put in as much time and effort as i can and get out fishing, digging and meeting different lads and trying to learn as much as i can off each 1. There are a number of other good anglers on here that have kindly taken me along with them and i have learn't loads off each 1. I still don't catch many fish tho lol, must be cursed:confused:

Sound like me matey lol im startin to meet up with other anglers and its been great fun lately but im still new and only fished for 2yrs now & still waitin for ma big fish to come play with me:D

Another point worth mentioning is safety, some of the more productive marks are dangerous and without comprehensive knowledge of where you are and what your doing could be fatal. Mark X may be safe with a dying sea and a westerly breeze on the back of your head, but a different storey all together if a novice angler went there during a spring tide and a big Easterly sea

This is a poor and lame excuse for not giving out locations, do you think the commercials are going to go to a lot of effort for a couple of fish, i dont think so.

The guy who asked the question has a valid point, most of the replies are similar to what i probably think in terms of giving out locations to those who dont or wont put some effort in themselves, however, the posts may have been a little less harsh.

Go on lads fire away i have my tin hat on
