akios reels

I bought an Akios 757cs for £79 .99 plus £5.95 postage from Fishtec on eBay just over a week ago.
I've only had it out (in a manner of speaking
) four times since it arrived but early indications are very good. Smooth action, easy and predictable to manage on a long cast, the level wind makes life easy for me at night and it seems very stoutly built.
Time will tell but, so far at least, I'm very impressed overall. It's kind of like fishing with an old "proper' Abu, or that's how it feels to me.
It was recommended by Ian Alexander (so this all his fault
) in my Which Multiplier thread, so a big ta muchly to Ian for the suggestion.
I'll be out with it this weekend so if you want a sneaky peaky and a cast or three I suppose that could be arranged. I'm just north of Whitley Bay and I'll probably be prowling around Cullercoats or Tynemouth on Saturday and/or Sunday some time. Give me a shout if you want to try it, which might give you a better idea of what to expect from the much higher end 6 series.
A mate of mine up at Oban has an Akios Shuttle 656scm and he love it to bits. I guess a lot of this will come down to personal preference and expectations.
