Alrite lads just thought id let you know how we got on yesterday. Left shields about half seven with the weather looking perfect. Fished a couple small wrecks and some hard ground for an hour or so that produced some nice codling in numbers. Steamed out further to our first proper wreck and got some good fish. Me and a mate had 10 codling to about 5lb. I had seven ling with the best being just under 12lb, returned 4 but kept the biggest. Thought id be in for a shout of the sweep until the lad next to me pulled up a ling of 24lb! Gutted! Another ling came up of 16lb and the rest of the boat had cod upto about 11lb. All in all another belting day on board the JFK with plenty of sport. Loadsa macky and the odd coaly and pollack. Keep an eye out for the lads ling in the chronicle on thursday as Mr Charlton was there for the photos.

I've got a pic of my biggest ling i'll try get on next couple days.

love the report mate, i cant wait, just got sort things out coz my da and his mate had to pull out? u not up for another season on the JFK this month? and if so could me and my mate pop along?

I don't really read either its just what one of the lads told me when i was asked to catch you a few mackerel once i ran outta lead. Hope you enjoyed them.

Henda, im always up for a session mate! Theres no doubt i'll be out again this month. I'll be sure to let you kno next time im out but if you can't wait try Mr Skinner during the week, you should be able to get on. Its normally booked solid at a weekend so i usually get out mid week.
 
cheers for the macky certainly ejoyed them, skinned and filletted them, sliced them into strips, coated in bread crumbs cooked till crispy and had them in tortilla wraps with salad, plus a few chips on the side
 
The ling were on mackerel baited daylites. Id lost three of the four hooks and caught the 12lber on a single hook, baited with a massive side of mackerel with the tail still on.

Glad you enjoyed the macky Alan, i filleted mine and rubbed them with paprika and chilli powder. Grilled with a knob of butter then finished with a squeeze of lime, top drawer!
