Arrive back home on Wednesday from work and looking to go out Saturday. Fancy a new rod but stuck with which one to get, I mainly fish beach, rocks and river. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Mate that's almost like saying I mainly fish in water :D

There is no rod that will cover all those scenarios but if I was you I would look at the Leeda Icon M sport range. Think the retail at £149.99 and they are available in three 'power bands' - match, power and ultra. I will leave it to you to decide which one will suit your mostly fished

"Sorry for not stating Berwick" that's what I normally fish in that order, mostly beach and rock marks, if I can get a rod to cover them then it will surely handle fishing in the river.

In that case I would go for the power. Check them out, you wont be disappointed, I dont think I have heard a bad word about them. You normally fish with a multi or fixed spool?

was thinkink that myself.ps imo dava them leeda rods are good casting rods aswell as value for money got the ultra rod myself.{now let the rod wars begin again}.good luck on your buying.may aswell mention the ron thompson excellerator aswell, bloody stiff rods.

I would go for the icon power. Not as stiff as the ultra power or RT Axe - both these would be overkill, not that the power isn't, for the river. But river is last on your list and you are going to need a bit backbone for the rock marks

Leeda ikon power for me.... Well worth 150 quid new. Either that or something in the century carbon metal range... Second hand you could get one for 120-150.

Nice allrounder and good choice of rod, take it and fish anywhere, rocks, beach, piers and river.

On that note we forget sometimes, some anglers and the kids just starting out, dont have or want to have, multiple choices, different rods to choose from available to them.

Think we all started with just one rod, do you actually need more,my one rod went everywhere, all year round, all venues, all conditions, still caught just as many fish, with me quite happy which is at the end the day is the only reason we do it.

No problems with the rod. It'll do most things from soft sand to rocks.
Only problem I found was that I just couldn't bend it to get a cast much further than around 85 yards.

You're probably younger and fitter than me so could do better but a lesson or two would be a good idea
