off all of easter week :) have got a car :) have a tent :) now where should i go?? am willing to travel just about anywhere in the uk where will i catch good fish this time of year???

Lots of flounders over cumbria way at the moment.

I would say try the west coast of scotland. Its a little early but im sure you will get the usual Doggies etc.

If your a bit more adventurous maybe North Wales on the Lleyn peninsula. You have a good chance of Huss etc.

Its really a crap time of year and you need another month for more consistent fishing, but if you dont try you will never know!!!

chukka is right about the flounders over here in cumbria but there isnt much else at the moment, the plaice dont seem to have arrived properly yet,a 54 angler match on whitehaven piers last sunday was won with 2lb 5oz bag.
too early for bass although therell be one or two about down sellafield way.

Ty Croes in Wales is producing a few thornies...mate of mine had them to 8lb. last week...

I would say that if you don't know a specific mark then don't go travelling a long way to fish it mate.

You might as well stay on your door step and cast onto the road outside most of the time. I have been told about lots of marks but if you are not shown them then you only have to cast a small degree the wrong way and you won't stand a chance of catching.

Everyone that reads this will have been told about a mark that has never fished for them. Equally most people on NESA will have been shown a mark that has done the business for them.

Steve, got to say from the safety aspect also, if you don't know a mark be very carefull about fishing it without local knoledge as you could end up wet if you are lucky.

I don't know how many times it has been posted on here that if you are going to places like Eyemouth do not go when there is a sea running as it will probably wash you off your chosen mark.

club match at workington won with 1lb 8oz plaice,id head for scotland if i was you mate.you could always detour to port carlisle for a flatty bashing session over high water on the way there or home.

yeah looks like am going to Port Carlisle guys thanks for the help.. an open to sugestions about best rigs to use for flatys !! any ideas !!!

they are taking straight mackerel baits in preference to everything at the moment, but a bit of lug and rag wont go amiss.two hook flappers are allyou need.
if you are staying in cumbria a day or two the south pier and prom at maryport can fish for plaice to worm baits.also the plaice marks up near workington.whitehaven pier can fish for doggies on the flood at night.but its a bit slow everywhere except the flounder marks.
