60 yards off ssp

Unfortunately boats have the right of way in the channel, most know better and stay a fair ways off the pier end, avoiding anglers lines, etc, however you'll always get a few that come close, sometimes just to take the p*ss. But as said the boats have the right of way, unfortunately that doesn't show that the owner of said vessel might be a numpty

The last few weeks there has been a lot of boats fishing just inside the piers because of the large shoal of herring holding there day in day out, we have taken over 50x mackerel size herring in less than 10mins one sesh last week but stick close to the north pier where no one fishes from(apart from the lower wall into the river-club comps)

I would stay clear of the lines as would not like it done to me or risk getting damaged to the boat, as stated boats have right of way but common sense with both groups is required.

Let's just say that I have learned my lesson to never kneel down and pre bait another trace ready to clip on whilst on that pier :)

when on pier try to fish where hand rails are and invest ithose bendable twisty thing and tie rod down, it will give a few yo a valuable seconds if you are distracted for a second or 2
