80lb line or 80lb shockleader ???

Easy. Don't use them on the load bearing part of a rig, there is no need to.

I use 80lb rig body with a Breakaway quick link at the bottom to attach my lead and a small 1/0 split ring at the top. A Gemini Rig Clip on the end of my shockleader completes the set-up. Totally safe, no hidden parts to go wrong like you have with swivels and can change rigs in seconds :)
Hi Malcolm what breaking strain is your main line. :)

Hi Malcolm what breaking strain is your main line. :)

Clean ground fishing 15lb main line, tapered leader 18 - 70lb, rig body 80lb.

Mixed ground fishing 20lb main line, 80lb parallel leader, rig body 80lb.

Totally happy to pendulum cast with both these set-ups, the 1/0 split rings are the same ones I use on the field to connect the lead when tournament casting.

Rough ground 35lb straight through, 80lb rig body with rotten bottom, overhead cast only.
