Been helping a mate fit his kitchen Thursday 8th, couldn't believe it when I got home how settled the weather was. Without a second thought the yak was loaded and I was off.
The water was like the witches proverbials and very clear. Heading straight out I dropped my baited hokkais over and started a slow drift north. Nothing doing so moved off towards the furthest crab pots were I had 10 minutes of madness, the cod were going crackers I should have had at least five but they were in a feisty mood and shook themselves off but managed this one 2lb 8 oz. I tried the same drift a few times but not another touch.

With time getting on I started a slow paddle back stopping to fish now and again but only one bite and another lost fish.
Before turning for shore my last drop of the day resulted in another codling, returned to fight another day.

Great evening to be out.
