hi mark,is that near where the old shipyards used to be,also there a big tescos nearby, private new houses now ?been up that area last couple years on holidays, sadly holiday people have sold up,[old kilpatrick]area fantastic views looking over erskine bridge, stoppedright up a hill near lock humperey, one hell of a hike. any contacts please for stopping up there again this year, but dont fancy the cloch c/site.only me and the BOSS +a scottish terrior dog, tight lines.if possible could you pm me when you have time.thankyou very much
It's actually 5 miles further down the coast from the big Tesco - at Gourock. I wouldn't fancy Cloch Caravan Site either, it's a bit of a dump!
However another 5 miles down the road is Wemyss Bay Caravan Site. That site is really nice with spectacular views over the Clyde. Fishing at the "Red Rocks" is just 5 minutes away. Mackerel, Wrasse and the odd Saithe can be caught there. Get the boat to Rothesay, Isle of Bute for Mackerel, Pollack and Sea Trout at dusk, although you must return any Sea Trout you catch.
Catch the Dunoon ferry and go to Blairemore for Mackerel and Dogfish. Tighnabruaich for same as Bute. Loch Etive is about a 2hr drive, I have never fished there, but plenty of info on here.
Don't misunderstand me, the fishing is poor compared to the North East. The species I mention can be caught, but other than Mackerel it can be a struggle.
Here is a link to the Park at Wemyss Bay.
Wemyss Bay Holiday Park, Renfrewshire, Scotland - Parkdean
The Sun have this park on their £15 holiday deal. Codes for the deal are land, pool, year, wish talk, meal, tone, hope, song and mare.
PM me for more info and if you are up when we are here, give us a shout and we can meet up for a wee shore session, but be prepared for the Lynn factor!
