Accident on Skinningrove Jetty

An Angler has been Injured tonight on Skinningrove Jetty
It is a Dangerous place. I think something should be done to make It safer for Anglers. A lot of kids use it too Especially in the Maccarel season
Something needs to be done before Someone is Killed

Hope the lads ok, sounds like everyone there did the right thing - it sounds a bit like the lad stepping backwards on one of the Sunderland piers and taking a really nasty fall

sorry to hear about the accident last night hope brian makes a quick recovery,it could have been a lot worse. i would like to me a point here about our piers,jetty,s and breakwaters that most of them are in a terrible state of disrepair, yet when you go on the south coast the piers are well looked after are lit up at night and are clean, why.

most of the piers down here you have to pay to fish off. thats probably why they are in a better state. wishing the lad a speedy recovery.

good point ,but i,m sure most of the lads up here would,t mind paying a few quid,if it prevents accidents happening like the one last night,it,s a big bonus to feel safe when you are fishing especially at night

Hope the lad is ok.
I have never fished this pier so do not where the danger is.
I know there is a metal plate over a hole on Steetly at the concrete end which is wearing away and one of these days i fear something like someone falling down might happen.

We had word today from the Lads Brother
He has a Broken Pelvis and a few other injuries But he is expected to make a full recovery
Unfortunately Brian might have to stay in hospital for 6 to 8 weeks
Good news I think, It could have been worse
