Spinning from the rocks can be a tackle graveyard if you are not sure of the depth of water, plus you have the obvious dangers of tides turning on you, best advice would be to have a look on a big spring tide at Low water and get a feel for the mark/area you want to fish,Whitley Pipe is reasonbly deep water to fish from but can be dangerous, only fish there on a settled sea with a westerly breeze or calm.Peeping Toms Rocks at Blyth which is on the river side of Blyth Pier, not saying you'll catch a biggun there but it will give you a start and get you used to spinning from rocks, its probably best to try somewhere with a decent stretch of rocks so you can move around. You could also consider float fishing from the rocks but you'll need a decent depth of water and will be trial and error.
Is there somewhere you had in mind to fish if so somebody might help you on whether it will be any good
