Johnny, Amble is a canny hike from N.Shields, get yasell down to the Royal Quays marina, it\'ll be just like fishing Mill Dam.

Mill Dam ? I\'ve never fished there. Is it near to the Magic Island ?

Hey up Jonny lad, i,ve been fishing Smith\'s dock lately and always managed to catch codling, although only on the small side one to two pounds. All along the coast is quite at present, we definitely need a good sea away. :(
My advice save your petrol and stick with Smith\'s, fish frozen crab a couple of hours either side of high or low water ;)

JAW.

johnny if theres a nor/ly lift on tomorrow try the bottom of the cliffs area at newbiggin, its only a short walk from where alans been today.

bottom of the cliffs get some weights made johhny can you take a camera as well to prove your there ;) ;) ;)

jonny I don\'t know if you have fished many rock marks before but before you go on check the tide times and keep your eyes open behind you as it is easy to get wrapped up in your fishing and get trapped there. Spend some time before you go on and make sure the waves are not going to come over the top of you, like happened to me two weeks ago.
Don\'t let this stop you from fishing the rocks just be carefull mate.

Jim.

Good advice from both Keith and Jim.

The way the sea is at the moment, I doubt if a trip to Marsden, let alone Amble would be worth it, jonny.

As Keith says......try the river.....it does seem to have been more productive than the sea, recently.

Just to add to that theres a couple of spots where you can get cut off especially in front of the Church (church point),I know through experience ! happy days \"not\".We still laugh about it now but not at the time got very wet as I only had my walking boots on.

Just been told by the good lady that Santa is bringing me an Imax flotation suit !!!!!!!. She has ordered it herself from Veals and she says whats a hundred quid when the suit may save your life. Very true, we cannot be too careful on some of the local rock marks.

cheers.

never fish alone in remote areas and take your phone (charged),tell someone where you are going, thats better than any floatation suit,no offence like

Hi jaw, ive got a match on tommorow night, im thinking of fishing smiths, where do you fish there and is there much getting caught in the river.

I take it Santas NOT bringing you a new flotation suit then Alan !. You must have been a very bad lad during the year!. All joking aside though, good advice Alan.

cheers.

Hey up there Bigman, congrats again on your fine catch at Beadnell and Arbroath. I,ve been fishing at Smith\'s most sundays now, i usually fish near to the concrete raised block roughly in the middle, it has a metal boat tie up on it. I,ve had my most productive sessions fishing the block tides, baiting with frozen crab and black lug. I\'ve also found the further you cast the more you get, casting into the set. I use a clipped down rig and six ounce grip to try and hold in the tide. On the bigger spring tides it seems to be feast or famine, the fishing usually picks up about 1/2 hours either side of high or low water. Although when the rip starts i tend not to cast as far out as tackle losses can be big. If you fish at Smith\'s you should get a weigh in of codling/whiting.
Although i,ve heard from reliable sources that hebburn and Jarrow marina are fishing well for big bags of whiting and flounder two hook pats with rag/lug, mackeral seem to be doing the business. Hope this helps Bigman and good luck although of late you shouldn\'t need that. ;)

Cheers JAW.
