what is the most stupidist or daftest thing you've done or seen when you've been fishing??

the most popular misfortune on the boat is when some poor soul makes up a all singing all dancing rig

expensive hokkis,bought ripper, muckle treble hook, good quality splitring,about £6 50 worth drops it over the side forgets to connect to main line bye bye now

closely followed by,angler has decent fish,cant/wont wait for gaff/net lifts bye bye now

Maybe it should, maybe it shouldn't, am in two minds about it...

Not that a have anything against the post, its a very good idea, but theres been a lot of other threads on here regarding the same thing over the years (you probably seen this idea on another forum/website), and non of those were stickys, not that i know of anyways.

Still a good idea though.

One of the best ones I have seen is a certain member on here(who I am halfers with our boat with!) attempting to anchor in the middle of Loch Etive(500 feet of water) with 150foot of anchor rope! I laughed that much at them taking turns pulling the line, chain and anchor back up puffing ad panting and red in the face as it was straight up and own! It was hillarious!
Watching them get the anchor ready from another boat nearby thinking, what are they doing???? They aren't going to try anchoring here are they? It's 500 foot bloody deep!!!

i remember an old mate, alan he was called. we were fishing in smiths a good few year ago before any of the development was even thought of.

anyway it was a cold winters day and the oldins always wore floatation suits. so alan decided to go take a dump down the steps in the dock. he came back up saying 'here lads ah dont know where that went, it must of washed off the step !' here wasn't a shy bloke like.

through the course of the day us and alan kept on getting wafts of sh@te and low and behold he had only took a dump into the hood of his suit !

what a belter ! i couldn't get up for laughing

1st day i took my spankas MAG 2 out fishing... end of Shields Pier, forgot to knock it to free spool! tried to thump a cast out and ended up clinging onto Rod Butt with Finger and Thumb! Everything over the side!
would of been the longest walk back along the pier that Day :exclam:
Rod's still got the nice marks on to remind me of it :exclam:

Stood on pier for 10hours only to catch one codling headed and gutted it went to chuck the head and chucked my knife over the side instead.
