Any One We Know?

the man involved was suposed to have been casting off the top of the wall at the 44mark when he fell onto the rocks below, theres more info on big pauls site northeasttopmarks.com.

I know the lad involved and it's been a regrettable accident, pure and simple. We all have them at some point in our lives and I can say with hand on heart that he is not an idiot, in fact he is a fly fishing instructor, qualified with the FFF, EFFA, GAIA, APGAI and AAPAGI and is also currently the Roxtons International Salt water Fly Casting Champion and UK distance fly casting record holder with the BFCC.

He is awaiting an operation to pin his foot and leg back into position, lets hope he has a full and speedy recovery and that this doesn't effect fishing on the pier in the future.

but whatever he is ,"WHY" was he on the wall and ended up where he was ,surely you can cast without been up a hieght

I'm not his spokesperson, just letting people know he's not some chav idiot.

I defy anyone to deny that they have never taken a risk, however slight, when fishing - wading out to a mark, climbing down to a mark, standing on the edge of something to land a fish or pull free from a snag?

np rob cheers, yup we have took some risks ,well i have standing on marks with waves lashing ower ,swells too close coming along dangerous pier marks ,just for a fish , ridiculous sometimes

It can happen to anyone, accidents usually happen when you do something silly, Lets hope he gets better soon, and others learn by his misfortune.

Aye Rob, youre right there. Ive cerainly taken risks in the past.
When does a risk become an accident?
Only when it goes wrong.
Hope he makes a good recovery.

Thank's for the info Rob and I hope he gets mended soon mate, I have stood on that wall quite a few times myself when pulling out of a snag or helping someone in with a fish at the rail end.

Jim.
