yes I know, I'm working on the darkside....

trying to put the wee dell PC back together for the panser after its soggy winter on board. its an optiplex desktop thingy

now, the problem, its got on board graphics, svga on the back, and its also got a rage AGp graphics card in as well

what i want is to run both monitors, the fecking thing will let you run one, or the other but not both at once, theya re both plugged in, one tot he onboard, one to the rage card, got the right Ati drivers in, the bios says the AGp and the onboard are both enabled... so whats the deal?

used to the mac world where you just plug extra monitors in and they well work, you just have to tell it where thy are in relation to each other so the mouse will go off one side of one and appear on t'other
 
some duplex software solution skip - google the fella, maybe a funny lead will be involved but i know it can be done. me daft boss does it

If there is still the bar code like sticker on then Dell on line or by phone give free advice.
I have a used Dell and they were great
 
yup, got the number off the sticker and rang them....

translate allt he tchnical niceties to read "we set the motherboard BIOS so that it won't drive 2 monitors at once from the built in graphics cards, if you want to use the onbaord video and the AGP card at once you have to but a special dell graphics card which will override th bios and allow both to work - £85"

sod that, Matrox dual head graphics card off ebay instead will do the trick for a fraction of the price. got 2 nice flush mount 15" tft's to fit at the helm, can have the 3d and all the nav data on one and a nice big chart on the other

fecking hope so! few things to resolve about the lift out (like when!)

and depending on your viewpoint it might be a relatively empty boat, or the largest open plan sea toilet ever seen - the lavvy will not be for shy bairns thats for sure!

ahh, but unlike glasto, (unless you've been over indulging on the psychedelics), out netty moves about in 3 dimensions and has the added excitement that if the wiring goes wrong it can blow instead of suck!

the smell is remarkably similar at times though :o
