I fished Blyth pier on Boxing Day, and y mate caught what looked like a pink eel, with nee head, only a hole and little feelers, slimy as hell, about a foot long.clinging to his bait.

Yes it is a hagfish....there is loads from blythe pier mate.

dont even use your cloth to hold it....full of slime..........just put your foot on it and pull your hook....comes out with ease.

Never pulled one in yet Paul but have pulled my gear in and it has been well knackered. Just took it off and put it in a bag then binned it at home.
