Not all anglers can get maddies,crab,wites which are a massive advantage so if you fish a match and the guy on the next peg is kicking your arse on maddies you ain't fishing the next match so comp numbers go down..i say you don't like it don't fish it ...simples

But again if that lad has dug them picked them put the time and effort or expense fair play to him same as if he has spent the momey on all the best gear its like saying to a formula one driver dont use ya top 2 gears. If its the case of a unfair advantage make everyone use the same rig as not everyone can tie 3 hook clip downs or loop rigs should they be penalized for that 2?

Not sure what the point is of this post people would wine on if you could use any bait and all you would here is " I pay £10 and its not fair coz he's got better bait I'm going home"

How does baning a bait get more people fishing matches? Clubs are getting less and less anyway

right get this into your head someone who has just started fishing is more likely to start match fishing when he or she can get the same bait from a tackle shop very easily and be at no real disadvantage to the resident match lads and lasses then in turn they can learn the rigs ect each match they fish.why don't you try organising a few local matches with all baits in and see how many you get turning out week in week out

Its a load of rubish that any novice enters a comp against top match lad using the same bait has the same chance what a load of **** what about there tactics of using carp style rods 4lb line and all that its a massive advantage now if a novicee turned up with a bucket full of crab that you can get easly enough he has a chance of getting somethin i have seen jim dobbie kenny mccoy at work in the river i would have no chance of winning they have it off to a art and the gear they have for it. Crab gives the novices a chance in my eyes thats why in the opens anyone has a good chance making them big turn outs
