Apple Iphone?

Just been on the phone with Orange and tried to get the N95 8Gb for free and they were having none of it...despite loyal service of over 9 years, an average phone bill of £40+ in that time...they were going to charge me £160 for the handset :o

...told them I was more than likely going to switch over to O2 for the iPhone and yet they still wouldn't budge

One last throw of the dice in the form of a snotty email might work but if not I'll be an iPhone boy by January...if I'm going to spend £100 on a new handset may as well be a gucci one :D

I have the same hassle every year with Vodafone, I only pay £16 per month. Last time my upgrade was due I asked for the N95, I was told no chance that's a £400 phone. I just said ok no probs, I can get it free on another network with more texts & minutes, just send me my PAC code. I had to give my credit details there and then to pay the contract off (1 month left). Got a phone call the next day asking why I was leaving, told her what phone I wanted and got the N95 free, just had to pay £5 delivery.

Be persistant!!! the magic words are "send me my PAC code" :D

How's that for customer service eh mate ....ditch them and make sure they know why and you'll spread the word.

apparently they score customers in a very similar vein to Credit Scores...1-6 in this case - I came up 5 (meaning "this guy's OK") and they still said no...supposedly there's a management directive on this handset that says due to the actual cost of the handset blah blah

email sent...but like you say Steve, come D Day I'll put a flea in their ear and then dish the dirt on "Phoney" type forums (of which I discovered there's millions of last night :o people more nerdy than fishermen? no way :D)

Just a word of caution tho bud.......i have the same problems with O2 every year so they ain't any better. (better deals tho)

You should try and have a go of the iphone before you buy it tho as every1 i know that has had one ain't got them now and most of my mates are worse than me for gadgets. Just couldn't get away with the touch screen. the 3 buton touch screen on my K850i is pain enough for me! I sold my iphone almost as soon as i got it after using my mates for a couple of days. He sold his aswell.
But for every1 that don't like them i'm sure there are people who think they are great! Just try before you buy if you can.:)

I've had the same hassle for the last couple of years...I only wanted the phone I've got now (Sony Ericcson K810i) and had to go through the same palaver last year...I'm going into town at some point in the next few weeks to try the iPhone out just in case I hate it :o:D

I think you have to go through the motions of cancelling to get to speak someone with the authority to offer you a better deal than the ones they advertise.
