“The Bill Elliot cup” I wonder if that was the same Bill who used to play bowls with my Dad when I was just getting started sea fishing. He took me fishing off the fish quay at north shields, using fresh peeler. We caught a few little coddling that afternoon then packed the gear away into a wicker creel before heading home. Funny how these little things stick in the memory even from over 30 years ago.

this was the bill Elliott junior passed away afew years ago his daughter who lives in America donated cup and some fishing taclkle which was raffled off and gave the retired members a trip to seahouses with a fish and chip supper thrown in.billy Elliot senior was one of the founder members who fished for many years perhaps this was who you were thinking of father and son were long time members of Tynemouth club. davy.
