bad news

just had a call off a friend their has been an accident on newbiggin cliffs he has said the cliff has gave way possible fatalities

Lets hope everything turns out ok and he's safe. I think we should also appreciate all those people trying to help him, especially in these conditions, fingers crossed.

Just had relayed from a mate, that the lad on the scene who witnessed it all is just leaving, and reports that they have just started digging the chap out - apparently they've located his fingers or arm or something. So reports are patchy & I'm sure we'll hear more tomorrow, but after over three hours buried under the cliff..... who knows? At least the water never covered him at high tide, so that's something.

Gary :(

Gary thanks for keeping us up to date on this terrible event. The guy who seen it happen must be in bits. Our thoughts are with this poor man and his family who must be worried sick.

Ali

No problems Ali, I know that the lad who witnessed it was a local and apparently didn't recognise the poor chap, so he probably was a visitor; all I know is that he was described as a lad in his thirties in cammo gear. I think all we can do now is wait and hope for the best, I doubt I'll hear anything more this evening & don't want to get into further speculation.

Hoping for the best & hats off to the rescue people who must be working in pretty horrible conditions down there, having to work from the top of the cliffs which must surely be in a pretty precarious state.

Cheers, Gary.
