bad news

Always horrible to hear these stories. Angling is a dangerous sports which is why safety should always come first although we have all fished such places (infact the same place) and never expect these things to happen. Thoughts out to the family

Condolences to the family and my greatest admiration to the rescue services for their valiant efforts in very difficult conditions… A sad day.

This is tragic news and I know the whole of the north east sea angling community will be shocked and saddened by what has happened. The area is home to some of the most dedicated and hard core anglers anywhere in the UK and today we lost a fellow angler, may he rest in peace. My sincere condolences go to his friends and family.

Very tragic. Rip.

Has he been recovered yet? the daily mail says his body was left overnight.

Fisherman buried alive under tonnes of rock after cliff crumbles under his feet | Mail Online

I spoke to my Station Officer earlier, and he says unfortunately not as yet. The boulders and debris were too big.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends and also to the members of the rescue services for their valiant efforts in atrocious conditions. I work regularly with the lads in the Amble CRT, and they, like all the other CRT's and services, would have done all they could to help

It's terrible that u go out fishing and yet don't get to come home after it all.
God bless him and his family. I've never fished the mark and prob never will now. :(

RIP. Makes you think twice about fishing other cliff tops marks such as the Target and Hill 60 after seeing the amount of mud that falls off them.
