Me and my dad headed down to the slab about 4:45, Got set up and had our first couple of casts with no problems. Then came the wind, rain and hailstones, Rod and stand nearly went over a couple of times but I was close enough to stop them. Then the wind got really strong blowing straight in our faces so we couldn't see a thing, Dads rod went over then seconds later mine hit the deck.. That's when we decided to call it a night, caught no fish at all.
Got home to find most of the rings on my rod smashed in, one of them almost flattened
Dads rod survived but he got some pretty bad scrapes on his reel.
Not the best of nights it has to be said.. Wrong place, wrong time, wrong weather!
