realistically how early can you expect to target bass from the surf i had a good few last year in the height of our so called summer but was wondering if its to early yet or may there be the odd one about now..bait fishing not spinning

there is always a chance of a bass if the conditions are right numbers should start to increase the backend of may

People recon when the water reaches 10 degrees , nothing to say you cant catch them when its not though.

Spoke to an older gent on roker pier a couple of weeks back reckons he's had a few on rag round Whitburn over the winter. They will still be there, just not so active maybe.
