ethnic bros ? no speaka english? admittedly its a free country but feel free to tell anyone be it white black british or not if they taking undersized fish or making a nuisance of thems to do the right thing ..no point ranting on in forums about them just educate them ..i know i do ...its about how u tell them ....if they get agro then its their flippin problem ...saw a chav who got tangled up with an ETHNic bros line as a direct result the ethnic bro lost his fish ...and also his end rigs...then getting abused by the chav on the end ...he just walked away ... just told the goon look mate if you cannae cast straight then dont fish in a crowded area obviously got adumb look of his face but then again you get that from all them chavs anyway ....would not like to see this forum turn out to be a place to express dissatisfaction with poeple who are different from the general white british population ..

i dont no the answer here but something has to be done families come to the south gare and there confronted with larger foul mouthed louts drunk as skunks swearing and been anti social.
maybe a ticket vendor like on a bus or a machine would help u havnt got a ticket your booted of the bus same thing with a pier, and make them 100% alcohol free.

my feelings exactly, last saturday a beer swilling ar**hole started ranting ranting and raving at a ethnic guy for somthing similar, when i tried to explain, tht the guy did not under stand his drunken ranting, he then stated he soon would as then threatened to hit him to make him understand, i tried several times to get through to this a****le and even phoned the pier guy, luckily the a**se settled down,, a lot people have a go at the ethnic peole about the taking of every thing in sight i personelly dont have a problem with that as every thing gets taken home for food and not used as a football or any sick game these so called anglers can think of .
and another point at least the chinnese, north koreans and others like them ARE NOT ABUSIIVE,DO NOT GET DRUNK, DO NOT LEAVE THEIR RUBBISH ALL OVER THE PLACE AND ARE GENERALLY FIND THEM POLITE WHEN I HAVE SPOKEN TO THEM AND THE LITTLE ENGLISH SOME OF THEM DO KNOW ALWAYS SAY PLEASE AND THANK YOU unlike many others who i could mention

you obviously didnt fish steetly when our friends were macky bashing, pixxed out there brains on illegal vodka, using 1oz wieghts tangling everyone and generaly been a pain in the arse.
You cant get through to some people Paul. They say it wouldnt work but offer no reasons other than someone taking their money as to why it wouldnt work. There is no suggestion as to what should be done (legally) to stop it. People need to look beyond the twenty quid or so they will be required to shell out and look at what lies in store if these issues are not addressed.

How can the sport be managed, better, who will go along a pier and collect money from someone who dont speak our language and claims ignorence, but claims everything else off this country

Why not just fish somewhere else?!
There are other places to catch Mackeral if that 'Rocks your boat!' At least u won't be abused and actually prob come away enjoying yourself more with less fish.

no, am talking about shields pier I dont have a problem with asians as they dont get drunk dont pee all over the place after drinking a case of beer they dont get abusive, dont leave their rubbish and are quite polite and want to be left alone and fish in peace unlike others who think its their god given riight to do what they want. But its the same story every year about the a***h**es , every one whinges about them but dont actually do out about it. why not phone the police and keep phoning till they take notice and do something as most of these ar***h**les are in breach of the peace, littering and obscene behaviour which is breakin the law, but the trouble is nobody want to get involved

I think I myself must be of Asian dissent Bob. I keep myself to myself, I do not drink beer on the pier (Sorry about that quote people), I drink plenty of tea and when I need to go to spend a penny I pee in the sea. I do not leave any rubbish lying around as I have a bag it all fits into. As for the peace and quiet, too many white Englishmen wanting to talk all the time, so I ask please when I have my headphones on listening to Thin Lizzy, **** off and don,t talk to me. Find a way to get a few webcams installed on the busiest summer pier ends. Almost everyone then has the ability to take their part in policing the activity. See something wrong report it from the comfort of home, with recorded evidence. I know we have too many cameras in our lives but this might be an instance when it actually proves of value and helps keep genuine anglers and visitors safer. Local authority / council should seriously consider implementing this. Perhaps a CCTV company may offer help or sponsor such a project.
Would be nice to check sea state also
I would also like to see some form of poster or information point on some of our more popular fishing spots. This could inform visitors about what they might catch, legal size and some general guidelines regarding safety and respect for other visitors and the environment.

totally agree with you... hopefully someone wil take note of this and put it into practice. it would be a good way to deter drunken, abusive chavs away from the pier..

One problem with CCTV.
Hoods and shades at best or a can of black paint.
Suppose thats 2 really.
But CCTV is rarely of any use as of course it tends to be after the event it is looked at.
Useful for support for other evidence but it does not put of anti social behaviour in most town and city's

Fair comment, cameras should be mounted high anyway. Even if people cant be readily identified at least a situation can be monitored.
I am sure there is no real answer but I would like to see more information available to educate the young or inexperienced.

being fishing down our coast 4 30 years plus only trouble iv had is with white , stoned or drunk brits and as far as the council getting involved name 1 thing thay run well and get value 4 money. make all piers permit only wd help pay 4 some bins and a decent gate and lock wd stop a lot ov tinsel tossers getting on. if the police can drive on might help. only way thay might turn up

maybe a fishing permit with your photo if u aint got the permit they confiscate your gear that would stop a lot from breaking the rules.
but then again i dont no how succesfull this would be especially to some fishermen who would not be happy to let some 1 take there gear.

matchman i agree your idea is common sense really a ordinary license would do the job it works for rivers etc..............why wouldnt it work for sea fishing i think it would
