Berkley xts sal****er30lb

I'll have to get myself back there mate - that's where I got my last batch from, thought it would have all gone by now!

Gary :)

I just got four bulk spools of 30lb off eBay for £30 including postage !

I'm a lazy hack so the thought of having the line delivered instead of trailing out to seek it myself appeals..

:)

I think it's about 640 metres per spool of 30lb, being a larger diameter line.

Either way I'm still happy with the price if it saves me trailing around unnecessarily.

It's more than enough for lots of reel fills so I doubt I'll be buying more line any time soon...

Very true mate :) Sounds like a cracking deal. I love this line, its the best like ive used in a very very long time. :) Just wish braid was multiplier friendly, otherwise id have that on :P

Yeah - I've successfully (sort of) tried lighter braid on salmon multiplier reels (Abu 5000/5500 and even 6000) and it seems OK as long as there's no real weight on it - seems to work well for throwing devon minnows and toby lures. The minute you think a 6oz sinker and a big bait on a beach rod or hooking into a snag or big fish though, it forces itself in between coils of line already on the spool and you only find out the next time you cast :(

It's enough to make me go fixed spool...

....almost

Haha, fixed spools and spinning = The way to go.

Braid and multipliers = A good thing, just need to get the hang of it.

Braid and mono, theres just not enough line! We need a super mono. (Yeah its called braid) DOH i cant use braid on a multiplier. :D Oh im snagged, (stretch, Stretch, awwh. Guy with braid, stand still, Pull a little, Oh what a supprise, im out :D

I've been using the 20lb recently for mixed ground and it seems very good & strong. In fact a while back I was fishing Shields pier with a mate who was also using the stuff in 18lb, and we both kept fastening up on what felt like a rope. In the dark both of us had real fun & games trying to snap the stuff, getting sliced hands trying to keep the line clear of the wall while the other pulled for a break, and believe me it took some snapping. In fact on my last chuck I managed to pull out of the snag, retrieving a bundle of old line & sinkers & stuff, so I rate it pretty highly. I can only imagine the 30lb stuff would be fine for rough ground and the 45lb stuff is the same diameter as the 30lb line I normally use.

Gary :)

18 TO 20 LBS is generally good enough for rough ground fishing.:D:D:D
