Best Chippy?

Got to agree with both Tynemouth and Blyth but I never use the one at the Sluice, very inconsistant with their opening times so I don't botherusing them at all.

Jim.

Lol John yer not rang there mate. I have been known to try some when I have been down that way when I am fishing though.

I used to take my Grandaughter there too as she liked the fish and chips there also.

the best ever in kendal was called hanratty,s . when they sold up locals used to say the shop went for 10 grand and the recipe went for £1,000,000

just got back from the blyth chippy and was the best fish n chips i've tasted in ages. Took a bit time to find a parking space but they're extending the car park and it looked nearly finished.

Marshalls

Marshalls

Back in the house after a wander round Tynemouth market, then Fish and Chips from Marshalls - the queue was out the door for the takeaway but we sat inside (the in laws were in tow and they must have their tea and coffee fix every half hour)...where was the rain today?

Will have to try Blyth at some point

Off for more small talk and then the UK TV talent show on ITV - Woo Hoo !!??

....would rather poke pins in my eyes to be honest

Got any tips on the chippys at Eyemouth? Went to the one just down from the co-op yesterday and they were rank! All just off cuts and dried up, must have been in the fryer ower long and saw me coming!

best chippy?. my own tefal deep fat frier with proper aniamal fat, browns the chips like how they should be. not good for the heart but god the chips are good. there is one mobile company who do all the big festivals and bike rallies and that is the "deep pan grill" might have the name a bit wrong but they do what i call proper chips nice and chunky and that lovely golden brown colour:):):), well i know what i'm having for tea lol

cheers
mark:)

Had Rick Steins fish and chips in Padstow last summer....g/f loved them, thinks they're the best...they were OK. I preferred his mussels in chilli wine liquor that I had at his cafe.

I like Kristian's on n/shields at the fish quay, never been able to fault theirs and there's always plenty. One at blyth on the links is pretty good but skimp a bit on the quantity/size I thought. Other ones in blyth are very hit and miss but the one up at Newsham (top of Plessey road) redeems itself for doing canny kebab meat. Chippy at the harbour at amble isn't bad but they don't do skinless fish and I'm not keen on the skin.

Best I can ever remember is when Bimbi's had the restaurant under the old Odeon (Paramount) on Pilgrim Street in town, dad used to pop down once in a while when he was still at the Odeon and get us some, still remember how good they were even looking back now 20yrs later.

Now I used to rate Kristians...when i was a lad me and me mates would cycle form Whitley along the coast and down the Black Middens prom to the fish quay and then have chips and batter as a treat...

Went there a few months ago after raving about it to the missus and was dissapointed...apparently there's one just round the corner that's quite good...but I don't know it's name
