Ive been looking around the sites for knots to join braid - braid and braid - mono..
I was wondering if you lads have a tried and tested and trusted personal knot you like to use..

:)Theres plenty to choice from ie
Albright Knot
Double Grinner
The Stern Knot
The J Knot
i use the double grinner knot, but thats the one i find the easiest one to tie.
you should try a few,& see which you find suits you.
Hope That helps.

Apart from joining the mainline to the nylon backing on the reel I would never trust any braid to nylon knot , i always join braid to nylon with a swivel, I tie a snap swivel to the end of my braid mainline with a uni knot

Uni Knot - How to tie a Uni Knot

Then clip anything I want as end tackle into the snap swivel , I never use braid in the rigs or end tackle in any way , rotten bottom mono for the lead and a swivel tied to mono clipped into the snap swivel for the trace, or if I'm using a daylight rig for example I'd clip that straight into the snap swivel and attach the lead below it, so mono never ever gets tied to braid.

Similar to Ray, the only braid to mono joint I have is the backing to the main line and that a)gets done only on new spools/reels so is very rare and b) never sees the light of day as its buried in the reel so is never put to the test.
The terminus of the braid main line is a swiveled quick link and from there on in for all traces it's mono all the way. It's very rare the braid snaps off on a snag as the line always breaks at some point in the mono whereby it's simply a case of unlink the remains and re-link a new trace .... hope this helps
