[Lenny needs a fish]

Fished the mill dam with my mate ryan. I fished the tide coming up but it started of slow as we both got snagged and lost my gear. then i banged into somthing on my little 6ft spinning rod, It was a flounder.then for the next 3 hours it was a flounder every 5-6 drops after 4 flounder I banged into somthing fighting hard but it came of...the secound I dropped my bait back in my rod was going mental and I ended up with a nice sized coalie then another 7 flounder Pitty is 1 snapped of and it was massive
2 of ryans snapped due to my s**t knots hahaha he landed 1 flounder and at the end of the day we had 13 flounder and a coalie.
7 flounder give away to people fishing (not chavs though)
rest returned exept my poor coalie which was murdered and my tea to
and some great fun on the little rod

What time were u doon? Was that all you's fishing between the pontoon? A popped down there around 4.45pm just to see who's fishing, ended up chatting to 4 mates, including 'chrome21' and the two young lads who a helped out last week...

They all had bait on mate when a popped down. Besides you only may very rarely catch flatties on the spinner (baited spoons obviously or if your fishing for halibut of course!)

I was thinking about the coalie mate. I've got the summer spinning bug and have a crazy idea of spinning up the river for coalies sometime

We always used to fish mill dam as kits with the sprat benders, was always good sport but never seen it through up anything decent, quite snaggy too but now ive read that might give it another go wots the best part to fish from?

The lads just hang it down through the gap (there baited rods lol) between the railings and landing, fishing on the bottom, am guessing the landing is a fish holding feature.

We all spend god knows how much on equipment to get us as far out as possible, yet the kids can outfish us with handlines haha, Lenny caught a 40cm flounder at 2lb the other day on handline lol.

I noticed them doin that too when a was down, kicking crabs about, and throwing them off the ground... Enjoy ya fishing lads but don't be cruel so and so's...

I have asked them about this and they reassure me they weren't doing this kind of thing, they were trying to kill a fish to give to a polish lady and it wouldn't die.

I believe them on that as I know first hand flounder are tough little buggers to kill, anyway I have never seen this behaviour myself from Lenny while fishing and would hate to think he would do it. A little word of encouragement from a fellow angler as to not behave barbarian would be suffice or a PM, but to hang them out on a public forum is wrong.

They also reassure me that no fish were thrown at each other, a few fish were killed and given to passing people enquiring about them. However if was to kill a fish that I plan for the table (I don't kill a fish unless it's for the table) would that make me bad for slapping my mate on the face with it for a laugh.?

But anyway thanks for posting this it has put the lads off posting on the site it has upset him, they have had a rollicking over what they say is unjustified accusations that are not true.

Kind of reminds me of the catch and release lot over on WSF.

i think he was going on about the crabs they where catching
i dunno which lot of kids it was but while i was there they where kicking the crabs about ( we probably all done it at that age) but still doesnt give a good impression to joe public

These were the same kids that took a fish off Lenny and Ryan (the same fish that was thrown about because these kids were bigger and older) and stole there hooks and some crab bait. The 2 young well dressed lads who asked ducky if he caught owt whom he chose to ignore were Lenny and Ryan.

Ducky IMHO should of got his facts right before accusing the lad of doing these things.

The 2 young lads whom I helped out last week were fishing there with them, cannot remember there names but they were not kicking or throwing anything, just happily fishing. As for the rest who were fishing a dunno who's who but having a game of footy with a poor crab is sickening...

As a said a dunno who was who so if it wernt lenny then am sorry for any accusing but u never know...

Did I call you a liar mate,? I have said what the lads have told me about what happened, they presume you were the guy fishing opposite to them who kept shaking his head at them. They said they went over for a chat, asked if you were catching and got ignored.

Just like the accusation of the 2 lads doing these things I guess there was more people than just you fishing, exactly the same as the kids as there was about 4-5 different groups.? 2 cases of mistaken identity.?

Are you calling the kids liar's.? I know Lenny doesn't lie, the lads as good as gold and was actually a victim on the day to bigger kids pinching off him. It is good to post if these things happen if you are 100% of the person, as said before yes you should of said something to them they are 12yro kids hardly a group of threatening chavs.
