I've had loads on spinners - silver minnors and dexter wedges are killers for pollack. Some people use jelly worms too and I've even seen them caught on daylights
had all my big pollock on frozen sandeel spinning, float with rag, spin with lures, freeline with rag, piers, eyemouth, dunstanborogh,st abbs, beadnell, for plenty of pollock. davy
Personally I would spin for them rather than float, get yourself down to a good deep mark, like the ones already mentioned and fish along the edge of the rocks, I found alot of my Pollock were coming in the last 10 ft of water and massively. Increased my catch rate by casting along the rock edge. If you can't get past the mackerel id switch to jellys. If you do want to float id use rag worm fished between 9 and 13 ft deep.
with a lure where theres rocks or gulleys close to the cliff and plenty kelp but obviously deep most will hit you last part of reeling in or even near the top
Ive caught many a pollack on daylights and spinners and not even trying for them as i was just macky bashing at the time but it just shows you anything could happen when your not expecting it so there you are m8 good luck to you.
