BIG COD AT THE WHERRY

Many thanks to Terry Wood for sending me these 2 pics of Graham Ali with his 27lb 2oz cod which he caught from The Wherry last Monday.

According to Terrys\' article in the Shields Gazette tonight, this is the largest fish to be caught in South Shields in the last 38 years.

caught on fookin mackrel, the amount of times I\'ve fished there with fresh/frozen crab and mussel and I\'ve only ever had fish to 3lb :casstet: just goes to show you.ve got to be in the right place at the right time, well done that man

dazzer, I believe the photo was taken the day AFTER it was caught.

I doubt if any of us would be looking our best under similar circumstances.....lol.

cracking fish but was the sea that flat in Shields on tuesday cos it was huge in Seaham when i drove past -puzzled !

I have been waiting since last Sunday for the sea to drop off so i could get fishing - and it was fishable at the Wherry all the time ????
