Big Tides

Hello all. New member here from the south of the NE area. Luckily only 10mins from Whitby/Runswick etc so am going to try Whitby tonight. Been checking out the tides and they appear relatively high this week. Could anyone suggest what constitutes a good high tide for catching?

Thanks.

Although a good tide is important I find that the sea state is more important. I\'ve fished massive tides at Runswick and Whitby and blanked. A smaller tide with a good sea running will often turn up fish. Get a spring and a good sea running and you\'re in business! :D

Must admit I much prefer a small tide with a bit of or a big sea running That\'s apart from the marks you need a big tide to get onto.

Hello mate and welcome...
As Mike say\'s it\'s not the size of the tide thats all important its the movement of the water esp at Whitby and the surrounding area,, what you want is a nice steady roll (ground swell), big swells and massive seas are productive but a nice gentle roll does it for me every time. :D
